An RO system with a permeate pump requires no automatic shut off (ASO) valve, which shuts off water flow when system pressure reaches 60-65% of line pressure. A permeate pump will continue to operate until system pressure is equal to line pressure, increasing system pressure 35-40% (compared to ASO valve) and water delivery to the faucet.
