The Aquatec ERP-500 permeate pump is for RO systems 50 GPD or less. The pump uses no electricity, only hydraulic pressure from RO brine to pump permeate to the storage tank. Installation of a permeate pump will improve membrane performance and reduces brine water to drain by up to 80%. An RO system with a permeate pump requires no automatic shut off valve, which shuts off water flow when system pressure reaches 60-65% of line pressure. A permeate pump will continue to operate until system pressure is equal to line pressure, significantly increasing system pressure and water delivery to the faucet.
