The surface of the dome consists of millions of pores that measure 0.2 micron in diameter, while most bacteria is 0.5 to 1.0 microns in size. The ceramic filter dome is secured inside the top tank. When contaminated water is poured in the filter, it will trap dirt, debris, contaminants and most bacteria before the water passes to the “clean” side of the filter to ensure that your water is free from any harmful diseases such as typhoid, cholera and dysentery. We encourage our customers to clean and scrub this filter every 2 to 4 weeks or as frequently as necessarily, depending on the quality of your local municipal water. A layer of trapped dirt and gunk would accumulate on the surface, clogging the pores of the filter and slowing down the drainage of the water. Stage 2-6: 5-Stage Mineral Filter Cartridge- This is most advanced and efficient filter ever designed recently in the world. It needs only one filter to remove impurities such as bacteria, contaminants, chemicals, heavy metals, etc., and yet retains all good minerals and nutrients in the water. The filter provides you clean and clear water, without unpleasant taste or obnoxious odor. Stage 7: Mineral Stones – After the water trickles through the 5-Stage Mineral Filter Cartridge, it is stored in the bottom tank for consumption. The filtered and purified water is stored along with the mineral stones case which contains over 40 different types of inorganic minerals to infuse water with a balanced dose of essential minerals including calcium, manganese, potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. It is critical to wet the Ceramic Dome filter thoroughly inside and outside to get an appropriate water filtration rate. Make sure you soak the whole dome filter into clean water for at least 15 minutes before the first use. It is normal to wait longer time for the first few tanks of water. It should become normal after the dome filter gets fully wet. If it is still slow, try scrub clean the surface using Scotch-Brite scrub sponge.This unit comes with a base. Use the base for extra height, or simply remove it and place the unit on counter. The unit comes partially assembled. Minor assembly is required.
