Q: What wiill my water flow rate be like using this filter? A: This may vary depending on source water condition, type of ionizer, and usage. The finer pores of the carbon block gives you better filtration than GAC so if you do experience reduced flow, it means the filter is actually working hard to remove the sediments and contaminants in your water! Q: I don’t have a prefilter installed. Do I need one? A: No. However, for optimum performance of the AF-9000 filter it is recommended that you install an under-the-counter sediment prefilter. This is particularly helpful in areas with high levels of sediments in the source water and/or lower water pressure. Q: How do I know if my old/existing filter is the new HG-N type? A: The two filter models, or types of fit for the replacement filters on Enagic machines are either «original» or «HG-N». Each model of filter can only be installed onto its respective filter base in the machine. First, check your old/existing filter if it has large HG-N letters marked on the side, just under the Enagic logo. Second, the center nipple on the HG-N filter is not completely round with two notches on the outer rim.Finally, look inside your machine where the filter sits. If the filter tray has two extra bulges in the center hole (outlet) and not completely round, you have the HG-N type filter. The «original» type or MW-7000HG filters do NOT have these features. Also note that if you purchased your Enagic machine in 2011 or later, most likely you have the new HG-N filter. Please do not force our AF-9000 HG-N filter into an HG filter tray or turn on the machine if the filter is not properly installed.
