It is ideal for kitchens with limited under sink cupboard space. 5 Stage Filtration Stage 1 : PP-10F Baynote filter cartridge (made of Polypropylene) Remove the particles, impurities and dust in the water. This cartridge usually works as the previous cartridge to protect the behind filtration for water treatment system. Stage 2 : CTO-10F Baynote block activated carbon cartridge Water treatment for removing chlorine, taste and odor, organics and suspending particles. Stage 3 : UF-10F Baynote Ultra Filtration Membrane Cartridge Ultrafiltration (UF) is a separation process using membranes with pore sizes in the range of 0.1 to 0.001 micron, while most bacteria is 0.5 to 1.0 microns in size. When contaminated water is poured in the filter, it will trap dirt, debris, contaminants and most bacteria before the water passes to the “clean” side of the filter to ensure that your water is free from any harmful diseases such as typhoid, cholera and dysentery. Typically, UF membranes will remove high molecular-weight substances, colloidal materials, and organic and inorganic polymeric molecules. Low molecular-weight organics and ions such as sodium, calcium, magnesium chloride, and sulfate are not removed by UF Membranes. Because only high-molecular weight species are removed, the osmotic pressure differential across the UF Membrane surface is negligible. Low applied pressures are therefore sufficient to achieve high flux rates from an Ultrafiltration membrane. No chemicals involved. Consistent performance. Sterilization effectiveness will not decrease over time. Note: UV light will consistently sterilize your water. But the input water quality may vary over the time. If this system is the only treatment for your drinking water, please test the output water regularly by professional water quality labs to make sure it is safe for drinking. Since there may be many different kind of risks in the untreated water supply, this system alone can’t guarantee the safeness of the water it produces if its input water is not from a tested drinkable water resource.UV light of this system stays on all the time for two reasons:1. UV light bulb is like fluorescent light, frequent shut-off will greatly reduce its life span. 2. The UV light bulb takes a second to warn up from cold to reach its full sanitizing power. If it only turns on when the faucet is turned on, not fully sanitized water can be produced for the user.Installation of the UV filter: Please check attached pictures for details You only need the beaver hat like sealer. Do not use both the O ring and the sealer. The top of the hat sealer should touch the end of the tube and the ring side of the sealer is in the middle of the tube. Do not install the sealer up side down or inside out. It must be installed like to wear the tube with a hat at the end. After the sealer was installed appropriately on the tube, slide the tube into the chamber until the ring side of the sealer touches the edge of the stainless steel chamber. The sealer should stay outside of the chamber. DO NOT force insert the sealer inside the chamber. HAND screw the metal cap in and tighten it firmly. Do not use wrench or other tools to install the metal cap. Over tighten the cap may twist the ring side of the sealer and break the seal.Test the installation with water supply. Turn off water valve if leak is detected and reinstall the sealer and metal cap carefully. Finally, if no leak detected, insert the UV lamp to the unit and connect the ballast to power supply.
