KDF 55 : Filter Media for Chlorine, Heavy Metal, Bacteria, Iron Removal – 1 LB
High-purity copper-zinc redox media consistently remove 99% of free chlorine by electrochemically reducing dissolved chlorine gas to water-soluble chloride ions. KDF process medium are being used to complement or replace activated carbon filters, removing up to 95% of the chlorine when treating municipal water. KDF media pretreatment of granular activated carbon also extends the carbon’s life and limits bacteria growth in the bed. KDF Process Media are used for a variety of pretreatment, primary water treatment, and wastewater treatment processes. They are generally used in place of, or in conjunction with, granular activated carbon filters, even carbon block or inline filters. KDF water filter media extend the life of granular activated carbon (GAC) while protecting the carbon bed against fouling by bacterial growth. Our Media are also used to replace silver-impregnated systems. Silver is toxic, KDF Process Media are not. Silver must be registered with the EPA as a toxic pesticide, KDF Process Media do not. By the way, silver is more expensive than KDF Process Media. We can explain redox (oxidation reduction process) like this: KDF Fluid Treatment’s unique combination of copper and zinc creates an electro-chemical reaction. During this reaction, electrons are transferred between molecules, and new elements are created. Some harmful contaminants are changed into harmless components. Free chlorine, for instance, is changed into benign, water-soluble chloride, which is then carried harmlessly through the water supply. Similarly, some heavy metals such as copper, lead, mercury, and others, react to plate out onto the medium’s surface, thus being effectively removed from the water supply. SLOW PHOS | Slow Dissolving Polyphosphate Beads (1 lb)
Slow Phos is a unique form of polyphosphate beads that sequester hardness minerals, prevent precipitation of minerals found in water supplies, as well as preventing internal mineral deposits within the water distribution system. This form of slow dissolving polyphosphate beads makes it especially beneficial in providing ongoing and stable PO4 water treatment. Maintains water clarity through functional sequestration of minerals and scale control Reduced corrosion by inhibiting corrosion throughout the water distribution plumbing. Gradual removal and inhibition of existing mineral scale deposits and prevention of these formations in hot water lines and residential water heaters. SLOW PHOS can be fed at different concentrations in order to fit particular treatment situations or requirements. Normally a concentration of SLOW PHOS at threshold levels of 0.5-5.0 ppm polyphosphate will inhibit scale and corrosion. Applications: Hard Water Bullet Industrial Cooling Towers Refrigeration Equipment Vending Machines Air Conditioning Equipment Water Purifying Equipment Water Coolers Pre-filter for RO Equipment Evaporative Coolers Coffee Machines Food Service Equipment Water Wells Ice Machines Domestic Water Systems Typical phosphate dissolution rate: 90-180 days. WHOLE HOUSE WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM | 1.5 cu ft Catalytic Carbon 10×54″ TANK
WHOLE HOUSE WATER FILTER SYSTEM: Catalytic Carbon 10″x54″ TANK Filtration System Catalytic Carbon In/Out Filter System are highly popular because they correct a wide range of water quality problems, by reducing chloramines, hydrogen sulfide, and tastes, odors, chlorine & sediment. • 12 x 40 mesh catalytic carbon • Great tasting water from every tap in your house • No bad tastes or foul odors • Crystal clear water for drinking, bathing, and cooking • User friendly equipment • Low maintenance This system uses 12×40 mesh catalytic, high activity granular activated carbon manufactured by steam activation of select coconut shell charcoal. The catalytic activity of this activated carbon makes it highly effective for the reduction of chloramines and hydrogen sulfide from potable water. Its large micropore volume makes it particularly well suited for the reduction of low molecular weight organic compounds and their chlorinated by-products such as chloroform and other trihalomethanes, THM’s.
